Most people feel a brief twitch or ache in the muscle. Any soreness afterwards usually settles within a day or two.

Is it the same as acupuncture?

No. Both use fine needles, but dry needling targets muscle trigger points based on anatomy and is part of physiotherapy treatment.

Is dry needling safe?

When done by a trained therapist with sterile, single-use needles it is generally safe. Tell us if you are pregnant, take blood thinners or are afraid of needles.
